My name is Michelle and I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at 18 months of age, and after receiving over 20 operations by the age of 35, including both feet reconstructions, both knee replacements, and a total right hip replacement, I have decided to continue inspiring people to stay fit, healthy and active, through exercise and fitness, by Teaching Zumba®.
I have been in the Fitness Industry since the age of 16, where I trained towards and gained my Group Exercise Fitness Leaders Certification (Certificate III in Fitness), shortly followed by a Pilates Floor and Matwork Qualification (Michael King), and along with various other Courses, such as: Weight Loss Management Course, Stretch Course, Shoulder Stabilisation Course, Basketball Refereeing and Coaching, Sports Management (Clubs, Sports and Recreation), and Personal Training (specific to specialised groups). I have also attended the 2 day National Filex Fitness Convention in Sydney, NSW.
Finally, I have enjoyed attending regular Zumba® and Aqua Zumba® classes here in Hervey Bay, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and have attended a number of Zumba® Masterclass Events, in the last two years, since moving to Queensland approximately 10 years ago.
I have taught a variety of fitness, weight loss, stretch and weight training classes, at a number of gyms, in private classes, and within the workplace (Local and State Government), as well as local Schools and Training Establishments. I have also trained and assisted a number of Instructors and Coaches in gaining their Qualifications within the Sport and Fitness Industry.
It is my personal goal and the Mission Statement for ZFit Dance, to ‘promote health and fitness through Zumba®’ by helping participants to feel better, achieve their personal fitness goal, and to have fun along the way, and thus our motto for ZFit Dance is: “Feel the Difference!” – as we hope that each and every person feels happier and more healthy, whilst doing Zumba®.
It is not only a great way to stay active and healthy, but it also helps you to de-stress and unwind, whether it be from work, financial, family or other daily pressures of life. Just one class a , can be all that it takes, to leave you feeling refreshed and motivated!
